We would like to welcome you to Amorino Cattery. Please, come in, take your shoes off and put up your feet. We would love for you to stay and visit with us. We were founded in December, 2001. It all began with the cutest little kitten, a Chantilly, destined for big accomplishments. Emberhearth’s Hershey Nugget, LTD of Amorino started it all. Please see his story on our ‘History’ page. We have recently expanded to include the magical Norwegian Forest Cat, or Wegie, in our breeding program. We are so excited! We invite you to read more about Tana Bru’s Kristopher, who we lovingly call Rylee, and our little girl, Tana Bru’s Lissi, who we lovingly call Lissi. Both Rylee and Lissi are stunning. Please be sure to see their beautiful photos on the NFC Photos page. We are also anticipating the addition of another little Norwegian Forest Cat female. She is a Tortie and has a face that just simply says, "Kiss Me!" Her breeder is watching her and should she develop into a Cattery prospect, we will have her pictures posted. Meanwhile, we have many stories to share about our Rylee and Lissi and will add these stories as time goes by. Please be sure to check back often. If you have a story about your cat that you would like to share, please go here. We are a very small Cattery. All of our furry children are under foot and when not in our bed, are in various positions of sleep on all of our furniture. Since all of their furry children are also under foot, we have learned to walk with first our eyes, our feet second. Amorino Cattery is registered with the ‘Big Three’ – American Cat Fanciers’ Association (ACFA), The International Cat Association (TICA) and Cat Fancier’s Association (CFA). All of our kittens are eligible for registration. The Chantilly is currently only registered with ACFA. Whereas the Norwegian Forest Cat is eligible for registration with both CFA and TICA. Those of you who came here looking for a Chantilly probably have discovered that Amorino is now the last Cattery in the United States that is currently breeding this wonderful and loving cat. The Chantilly is now endangered and we are putting together a program that will require a huge undertaking by many different breeders to save the Chantilly. Unlike the Norwegian Forest Cat, the Chantilly is a ‘manufactured’ breed, which means that four breeds have been brought together to make the Chantilly. Those breeds are Havana Brown, Somali, Nebelung and Abysinnian. To date, a Havana Brown breeder and a Somali breeder have graciously offered their support in this campaign to save the Chantillys. Please, if there are Aby breeders who happen along this page, won’t you please consider the possibility of your participation? The very same four breeds that comprise the Chantilly at one time were also endangered and if not for the hard work and dedication of many, it is possible these wonderful breeds may have themselves become extinct. The Chantilly is in the same position. They are loving, devoted, charismatic, beautiful and almost extinct. AMORINO...The story behind the name. We wanted a name that would reflect what our babies mean to us. Amorino literally translates into Infant Cupids. Once you hold one of these precious fuzzy bundles, you will agree, they are truly Infant Cupids…their mission in life is to steal your heart away, and they will! Please, come in and enjoy. |
